History and General Information of Sing Buri Highway District
Sing Buri Highway District is under Highway District Office 11 (Lopburi), Department of Highways. Originally known as Sing Buri Highway Maintenance Office under Highway Office 9 (Lopburi), it was established in accordance with the Department of Highways Order No. J.1.9/11/2546 dated September 9, 2003, to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in highway maintenance administration and to align with the government’s integrated provincial administration policy.
The first Director of Sing Buri Highway Maintenance Office was Mr. Thanya Yiamwinya, responsible for three Highway Maintenance Sections: Phrom Buri, In Buri, and Khai Bang Rachan.
In 2008 (B.E. 2551), one additional maintenance section, Sing Buri Maintenance Section, was established in accordance with Order No. J.1.9/1/2551 dated April 30, 2008.
In 2015 (B.E. 2558), the Department of Highways reorganized the areas of responsibility under Order No. J.1.9/5/2558 dated February 18, 2015, assigning Highway District Office 11 (Lopburi) to oversee the former responsibilities of Highway Office 9 (Lopburi).
Subsequently, Sing Buri Highway Maintenance Office was renamed “Sing Buri Highway District” under Order No. J.1.9/7/2558 dated February 26, 2015, and all maintenance sections were renamed Highway Maintenance Sections under Order No. J.1.9/14/2558 dated April 23, 2015.
- Phrom Buri Maintenance Section became Phrom Buri Highway Maintenance Section
- Sing Buri Maintenance Section became Sing Buri Highway Maintenance Section
- In Buri Maintenance Section became In Buri Highway Maintenance Section
- Khai Bang Rachan Maintenance Section became Khai Bang Rachan Highway Maintenance Section
Currently, the office is located on Highway No. 32, Sing Nuea – Pho Nang Dam Ok Section, at Km. 103+200 (left side, outbound to Bangkok), Building No. 699/2, Moo 6, In Buri Subdistrict, In Buri District, Sing Buri Province 16110. The total area is 4 rai and 20 square wah.
The current Director of Sing Buri Highway District is Mr. Kan Sinsuebphon.
Area of responsibility covers:
- Sing Buri Province: Mueang Sing Buri District, Phrom Buri District, In Buri District, Khai Bang Rachan District, Tha Chang District, and Bang Rachan District (Pak Than, Sa Chaeng, Choeng Klat, Ban Cha, Mai Dat, Pho Chon Kai, and Sing Subdistricts)
- Lopburi Province: Tha Wung District (Bang Nga, Khao Samo Khon, Hua Samrong, Ban Boek, Tha Wung Subdistricts) and Ban Mi District (Ban Chi, Bang Phueng, Sanam Chaeng Subdistricts)
- Nakhon Sawan Province: Takhli District (Soi Thong Subdistrict)
The district is responsible for 18 highway routes, with an actual total length of 327.758 kilometers, and a total equivalent 2-lane length of 541.497 kilometers.
Surface types include: 18.596 kilometers of concrete pavement, and 522.901 kilometers of asphalt pavement. Workload totals 1,740.978 units.
There are four Highway Maintenance Sections under its supervision: Phrom Buri, Sing Buri, In Buri, and Khai Bang Rachan Highway Maintenance Sections.
